I am originally from Corrientes, Argentina. Motivated by my intense passion for agriculture, I decided to study Agronomy at the University of Northeast in Corrientes, Argentina. After graduation, I decided to search for new opportunities outside of my country so that I could experience agriculture in another part of the world. At present, I am doing my Master's degree at Kansas State University with Dr. Ignacio Ciampitti.
My current research focuses on studying the yield gain and related traits for historical genotypes of grain sorghum. The overall objective of my work is to characterize the sorghum genotypes based on their physiological changes across the last six decades of breeding efforts. Within the experiment, we are evaluating grain-filling and dry-down dynamics as well as examining water-soluble carbohydrates (WSCs) in stems and leaf canopy traits to characterize differences in yield patterns across the different years of release for those hybrids. Additionally, I’m leading the work in the lab for WSC analysis in plant tissues for corn and grain sorghum.
